Abstract

211,194. Hyne, C. J. C. W. Nov. 8, 1922. Stud-and-slot fastenings.-In a stud-andslot fastening of the kind in which the stud is gripped in the narrow end of the slot c<5> of the casing c either by the inclined sides of the slot or by a separate spring provided in the casing, the casing c is reinforced by a V-shaped wire c<4> to prevent damage by laundering machinery. The casing c, Figs. 2 and 3, is formed from a suitably shaped metal blank, the ends overlapping at the joint as shown in Fig. 2 to give a spring pressure on the stud. In the modification, Figs. 4 and 5, the casing c is formed from partially flattened tubing one end of which is-flattened down solid. A depression c<6> Fig. 4, may be provided to exert a pressure on the top of the stud either when in the fastened position or just prior to such position,
