CLOTHING HOOK.
Application filed November 10, 1921. Serial Ito. 514,202.
To all vi /1.0712, it may Con/06W).
Be it known that Enwann lonLLn, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at e036 McPherson Avenue. in the city of St. Louis and State of lw/lissouri has inx 'ented certain new and useful. Improvements in Clothing Hooks, of which the following is a specification.
This object of m invention is to make a clothing hook from one piece of metal or composition material. A further object is to make a hook which can be clasped over the top of trousers and which will provide a hook to be selectively positioned over a belt thereby holding the belt and trousers in proper fixed relationship. A further object is to secure the drawers and trousers together and to hook these engaging means over a belt if desired. lVith this and other objects in view, my invention has relation to certain novel features of construction and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter pointed out in the claim, described in the specification and illustrated in the drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional elevation of my device and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of my device.
Numeral designates a strip of metal which stamped and bent into the conlormation shown best in Fig. 1. The upper left portion of the metal strip 8 is bent at 4. The upper right portion of the strip 3 bent at and the right portion 6 of the strip 3 to the right of the bent portion 4 is made to meet the part 5 ot the right portion of the strip 3 in a substantial U shaped portion 7. In the left portion of the strip stamped the hole or aperture 8 left portions of the strip 3 are fastened to the trousers or drawers or to both by means of the staggered points 9 and 11. The width between the right and left portions of the metal of the strip 3 is such as is substantially equal to the thickness oi the cloth or belt band of the trousers. The U shaped member 7 together with the right portion of the metal strip 3 forms the hook which is positioned over the belt.
What I claim to secure by Letters Patent is:
A clothing hook formed of a single strip of metal stamped and bent into a conformation having two substantially parallel end portions, each portion having a triangular point protruding inwardly toward the other, said points being staggered relative each other and near the free ends of said parallel end portions, one of said parallel end portions being iorter than the other and both having their closed ends bent in ares, the closed end of the shorter of said parallel end portion being bent substantially parallel to said parallel end portions.'the closed end of the longer of said parallel end pore tions being bent to integrally connect With the closed end oi? the shorter of said parallel end portions.
1 n testimony whereof I allix my signatln-e.
EDlVARD POELLE.
