G. E. THORBERG TOKEN HOLDER Filed March 27, 1925 VVlTNES/S% r ATTORNEY Patented June 22, 1926.
UNITED STATES GEORGE E THOR-BERG, OF SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA.
TOKEN HOLDER.
Application filed March 27, 1925. Serial No. 18,826.
This invention relates to a token holder and has for its primary object the construction of an inexpensive article that is capable of supporting a. number of tokens in position to be readily removed.
An object of the invention is the novel manner of shaping the holder sothat the tokens can be readily arranged in place and removed. A feature of my invention is forming the holder out of wire bent to have a resilient action for holding the tokens in place.
With these and other objects in view, the invention will be better understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a side elevation of one construction of my invention.
Fig. 2 is a similar view with the tokens in place.
Fig. 3 is a cross sectional view on the line 33 of Fig. 2.
Fig. 4 is a top plan view of' another form of the invention.
Fig. 5 is another form of the invention.
Fig. 6 is a sectional view on the line 6-6 of Fig. 5.
Fig. 7 is a plan view of another form of the invention.
Figs. 8 and 9 are plan views of other forms of the invention.
Again referring to the drawings illustratinga number of forms of my invention and more particularly to Figures 1 to 3 inclusive, it will be noted that the holder is formed from a single piece of wire bent to form a resilient bight portion or head portion 1 including a loop 2 and parallel limbs 3 joining the head 1 through the medium of opposite inw'ardly angled portions 3 of the wire providing shoulders adapted to arrest tokens carried by the limbs to prevent dis placement of the tokens at that end of the holder. The forward ends 4 are bent outwardly and inwardly to form humps 5 of cam shaped formation so that the ends may be readily forced through the opening 6 in the token 7 and then spring apart for holding the tokens on the limb 3.
In Fig. 4c I have illustrated the holder constructed to dispense with the loop 2 and having upset ends 8 for facilitating the insertion of the ends through the token.
In Fig. 5 I have shown one of the limbs 9 straight throughout, while the other limb has a hump 10 at its end bearing against limb 9. I also provide an interfitting connection 11 adjacent the head portion 12.
In Fig. 7 I have added a clip 13 to increase the resilient action and to form a more substantial holder.
In Fig. 8 I have shown the holder with a single limb 14 and formed from the limb a resilient tongue 15.
In Fig. 9 the holder is shown having a single limb 16 to which is attached a resilient tongue 17.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings it will be seen that I have constructed a token holder having the required simplicity of construction which may be readily carried about the body for supporting any number of tokens. The simplicity of operation of the holder is a feature of my invention.
It is, of course, to be understood that the holder may be constructed in various other shapes than illustrated and have various other resilient actions than described and therefore I do not desire to be limited in any manner execept as set forth in the claims hereunto appended.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
A holder for perforated tokens comprising a resilient bight portion provided with inwardly bent angled portions forming shoulders, parallel limb portions extending substantially at right angles with the angled portions at the inner ends of the angled portions and said limb portions having their free end portions bent to provide opposite humps. 1
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
GEORGE E. THORBERG.
