Abstract

209,579. James, Ltd., W. & H. H., and James, W. Dec. 8, 1922. Stays.-Between the attachment plated b and a stay bar d is provided a projecting plate c. Figs. 2 and 4, formed with an integral metal tongue c<2>, which is then bent up from the plane of the plate and forced into engagement with an aperture d<1> of the stay to form its pivot connection, as shown. The tongue is formed by cuts c<1> extending from one end of the plate c. The bar d is supported in a horizontal position by the tongue and its side metal strips. In a modification, the members b, c are formed as integral members from a blank of T-shape by bending the stem to constitute the member c and forming the tongue c<2> as in the manner previously described. The tongue is then raised and looped through the hole d<1>.
