Abstract

208,876. Chambers, C. Nov. 18, 1922. Fixed-chamber apparatus; valve systems for; with means for preventing froth.-Two interconnected plug taps are operated by a single handle and one of them is associated with a volume measure, the valves being used, for example, for supplying a measured quantity of syrup and mixing it with soda-water. The casing 1 is provided with the two tapered plug cocks 4, 5, the tap 4 being connected with the measuring chamber 7 having a glass front 13. The plug 4 is provided with a passage 10 which communicates with the inlet 8 and with the chamber 7 in one position, and with a passage 11 which communicates with the chamber 7 and the outlet 22 in another position of the plug. Discharge of the contents of the chamber 7 is facilitated bv an air vent 27. The plug 5 is provided with small radial and axial passages 18, 17, communicating with the inlet and outlet ports, so that liquid passes directly through this valve, and the two plugs are interconnected by gearing 19, 20. The valves are cut off when the chamber 7 is just empty, but the proportion of soda-water may be increased by leaving the valves open after that point is reached. The outlet of the plug 5 may be provided with a screwed plug 2S having radial passages 31 to prevent foaming. Specification 21754/11 is referred to.
