Abstract

208,535. Soc. Belge Radio-Electrique. Dec. 18, 1922, [Convention date]. Variable resistances; potentiometers.-A variable resistance and potentiometer comprises a wire 3 wound on a core having a helicoidal projection 2-2 engaging a spring contact 10 so that as the core is rotated the point of contact moves axially. The ends of the resistance are connected to a spindle 4 conductively mounted in one end 6 of the frame and a spindle 5 mounted in and insulated from the other end 7. The contact 10 is mounted on the side 9 which is insulated from the rest of the frame. Alternatively the core may be stationary and the contact rotatable.
