Abstract

207,945. Wales, Ltd., and Powell, W. Oct. 14, 1922. Mattresses.-In mattresses, bed-rests &c. comprising a spring surface of linked wirework connected at its ends to frame members 8 by springs 10, the longitudinal unattached sides of the fabric are reinforced by rigid metallic tubes 11. The tubes may be attached by short links 15 as shown in Fig. 5, or a helical coil 12 may be inserted in the tube which is slotted to allow the links 9<a> to engage the coil. A wire 13 may be passed between the coil 12 and the tube 11 to prevent lateral play.
