Mattresses.-The flexible portion a of a spring mattress is rigidly attached to the end members of its frame and resiliently attached to the side members thereof. The surface a may be of wire, cords, canvas &c., and the springs d may be of metal or of india-rubber. An auxiliary frame b<1>, c<1> may be provided so that the mattress may be folded to act as a bed-rest, without loss of tension in the surface a. Specifications 17327/96 and 26941/04 are referred to.
