Abstract

207,481. Gilligan, G. H. Aug. 14. 1923. Spindle apparatus. -A vertical traveller 9 for a ring twisting- frame comprises a vertical shank 11 provided with a concavity 12 and formed with an upper-lip 13 and a lower-lip 19. The upper-lip 13 comprises a horizontal portion 14 and a terminal portion 15 inclined downwardly, a hole 16 being bored centrally in the portion 14 and a guide-slot 17 arranged to extend from the hole 16 to the edge of the portion 15. The lower-lip 19 is formed with a horizontal portion 20 and an upturned portion 21. The thread 23, which passes through the hole 16, is thus maintained away from the face of the ring 7.
