207,445. L³th, P., and Deutsche Solvay-Werke Akt.-Ges. March 6, 1923. Motor power plant. - A dynamomotor combination 8, 10 for actuating machinery 11 subjected to widely ranging loads such as hoisting-machinery or rolling-mills is driven by a low-or bipressure turbine 7 taking exhaust steam from a prime-mover 2 to the outlet pipe of which is connected a steam accumulator 3. In the arrangement illustrated the prime-mover 2 is a turbine coupled to a three phase generator 4 and exciting machines 5, 6, the generator 4 supplying current to an ordinary supply system. The dynamo and motor 8, 10 are controlled by a controller 12 in the circuit of the exciter 6.
