Abstract
The carrier for image recording comprises a substrate (1) covered with a layer (2) of a material, which is sensitive to radiation and contains a substance characterized by an ability, in its solid state, to change spasmotically its dipole moment under the influence of radiation at the temperature of recording. The layer a heterogenous mixture of substances, its filler (4) being the above mentioned substance either in the form of ferroelectric particles or as a magnetic substance with phase transition or as a photoelectret. The particles are able to line up in filaments (6) with their dipole moment oriented along the lines of magnetic force at right angles to the surface of the carrier. The softening temperature of the binder (3) is lower than the temperature of recording. The method of recording the image comprises a uniform heating of the layer (2) with a thermostat (23), projection on the carrier of the image with a means (11) of projection, subjecting the carrier to an outer pulsed uniform electromagnetic field generated by a source (28) and fixation of the image, which starts at the end of projection and is effected by way of cooling the carrier to a temperature lower than the softening temperature of the binder (3).
