Coke ovens.-The upper portion b of a -coke oven door is made separate from and of stronger material than the lower portion a, the two parts being secured together by bolts b<1> passing through a flange a<2> formed on the lower portion. The upper and the lower portions may be reinforced by metal strips b<2>, a<1> respectively, and either or both portions mav be reinforced in the manner described in Specification 6020/14.
