496,834. Doors for ovens &c. ROGERS, R. H. June 1, 1937, No. 27831. Divided application. [Class 126] A door for an oven or other chamber of cooking apparatus comprises inner and outer parts 10, 11, connected together at their edges by a heat-insulating joint in which an edge portion 14 of one part 10 is engaged by a heat-insulating packing 13 of U-section, and a trough-shaped portion 12 along the edge of the other part 11 embraces the packing 13 on opposite sides of the edge portion 14. The troughshaped portion is omitted along the bottom edge 15 of the part 10, so that the edge portion 14 can be slid into position. A separate insulating piece 16, Fig. 2, is held in place on the bottom of the door by a metal member 17, or the material of U-section may be continued around the bottom and be held in place by a member 19, Fig. 4.
