Abstract

204,069. Fox, T., and Robinson, S. March 20, 1922. Gas meters.-In a drum 1 for wet gas meters of the type comprising a plurality of overlapping compartments, having inlet openings 2 on one side of the drum and outlet openings 3 on the other side, made up of a plurality of strips each forming a portion of the front and rear faces of the drum and an inclined portion joining the same, the ends of the strips forming with adjacent strips radial openings extending from the centre to the periphery, the said openings 2, 3 are of a substantially constant taper from a maximum at the periphery to the centre. The peripheral length of each compartment is somewhat more than half the circumference of the drum, and the inner edges of the strips are curved at 7 to form an annular aperture 8 in the drum for the reception of the drum spindle 11 supported by and integrally connected by a split-pin 12 to a tube 10 soldered to cross-pieces 9, which are connected at the front and back of the meter tn diametrically opposite compartments. The drum spindle 11 is supported at its ends in the manner described in Specification 199,446. The rear face of the drum is provided with a centrally apertured dished cover 4, through which passes a gas outlet pipe 6 secured to the back of the meter. Specification 16064/01 also is referred to.
