Abstract

Rotary scraper apparatus; heating fittings.- Drying-apparatus comprises a chamber containing a fluid-heated drum having heating tubes through which the fluid circulates formed into coils arranged in radial planes of the drum, the fluid circulating from the outer to the inner coils of the tubes. As shown, the rotary drum b, is enclosed in the casing a and formed with steam inlet and outlet chambers d, e respectively, the chambers being connected by coils of tubes f arranged in radial planes of the drum. The drum is provided with agitating-vanes c. In a modification, the tubes are formed with unequal number of coils, the outer coils of the longer tubes being displaced laterally into the planes of the coils of the shorter tubes. In another arrangement, the steam chambers are dispensed with and the ends of the coils connected to the opposite ends of the tube g.
