Abstract

For the passage of cables and conduits (7) through water and gas tight and none inflammable covers or walls (3), the cables are introduced in hollow bodies (4) of rectangular or circular cross section. After introducing the cables and before filling the filler material the front surfaces of the hollow body must be sealed. For this purpose, strip shaped elements (1) similar to combs of pervious material and swellable, are inserted into the front surfaces so that the cables are spaced from each other and from the walls. The outer surfaces of the elements are spread with a fluid, thus swelling rapidly the pervious material closing all the openings for providing fire protection. Then the filling material is introduced into the hollow body (4).
