Abstract

Hank-type.-To give a to-and-fro movement to the hanks in the bath without substantial withdrawal therefrom, the hanks are suspended from reels j mounted on the lower ends of carrier members f pivoted at their upper ends and to which a swinging movement is imparted. As shown a series of carrier members f are mounted on a frame d and oscillated in unison above the vat a by means of rack-and-pinion gearing g, k, the rack being actuated by pin-and-slot mechanism u, v, from a shaft x; the latter is geared to the train o, on the shafts e of which the carrier members are mounted and from which the reels j are driven by means of chain-gearing n. The frame is mounted on a ram c' so that the hanks may be raised from or lowered into the bath a; when lowered a countershaft geared to one of the shafts e is itself put into gear with the main driving pinion s.
