Abstract

<PICT:0393742/IV/1> <PICT:0393742/IV/2> For supporting the endless rope of fabric in a winch dyeing-machine, there is provided in place of the usual winch or roller an endless travelling lattice or conveyer supported on pulleys or rollers of small diameter at the sides of the dyeing vessel. Alternatively, in place of the endless conveyer there may be employed a series of small rollers arranged in close parallel formation and driven to rotate uniformly in the same direction. As shown, shafts c, d mounted on brackets b at the ends of the vessel a, carry pulleys c<1>, d<1> on which belts e, f are supported. To the latter are attached by means of plates e<1>, f<1>, transverse bars g which support the rope of fabric. It is convenient to cause the upper run of the conveyer to follow a curved path, for which purpose the belts e, f at this part of the conveyer may be supported by intermediate small pulleys i. At the entry side a small non-circular roller j may be provided in order to assist in the cuttling-down of the fabric, or the pulleys d<1> may be made non-circular for the purpose. According to the Provisional Specification there may be provided at the point where the rope leaves the liquor a shaft or roller with projecting fingers or forks which turn over and open out the folds of the fabric.
