Abstract

203,613. Heim, H. E. Jan. 11, 1923. Heating water. - A fitting for mixing cooler water with the hot water at the top of a hot-water tank when drawing off, comprises a body 1 with connections for service pipe 3, relief valve 6, and, in some cases, for boiler flow pipe 7. The fitting is screwed into the top of the tank at 2 and is provided with a depending pipe 9, fixed as shown, and extending into the water a short distance. In operation, the water drawn off through the pipe 3 consists of cooler water from the body of the tank drawn through the pipe 9, mixed with some of the hottest water which passes through a hole 12. The pipe 9 may be smooth or spirally corrugated.
