Abstract
203,261. Ewart, J. W. Dec. 22, 1922. Fluid - actuated valves. - Connected gas and water valves e, l of water heaters are carried on a stem m axially movable in guides in a. removable liner f within the tube a with which the gas and water pipes k, e<1> to the heater are connected. The liner is closed at the lower end by a plug g<1> bearing an elastic seal o to prevent the water above the plug from leaking into the gas space below. In a modification, in place of a piston l, as shown, moved bv the pressure of water - to uncover holes k<1> leading to the geyser, the liner is widened to allow water on the rising of the piston to pass round the edge.
