Abstract

202,402. Glossop, W. May 18, 1922. Cauldrons; surface treatment with liquid or semiliquid materials. -Tar &c. spraying machines comprise a steam-driven chassis, carrying a feed-water tank 11, a tar tank 13 heated by steam coils 17, 18, and a pump 21 for forcing tar through nozzles 31 or back to the tank through a pipe 26 provided with a relief-valve 27. The tank a charging manhole having its mouth shaped to form a cradle 14 for a barrel and fitted with a coarse filter 16, and a fine filter 19 is coaxially arranged inside the coil 18. The delivery nozzles are branched from a single pipe, and are controlled in groups. The pump is connected to the boiler-furnace through a pipe. 36, so that flue gases can be pumped through the conduits and nozzles after use, and a barrel hoist-comprising a winch 43 and jib 44 is provided.
