Abstract

202,329. Bulle, M. P. Favre-. Aug. 11, 1922, [Convention date]. Electric clocks; striking-mechanism. -Comprises a hammer 18 actuated by an electromagnet 26 and battery &c. circuit having automatic breaks at 30 and at 36, a pendulum 34 of relatively high period with a flexible lead 39 being used to effect the break at 36. The 'hammer is spring-pressed into contact at 30 and is controlled by a ratchet F and pawl 20. The ratchet F is released by a cam 2 on the hour-hand arbor 1 and spring- pressed lever 5 having a slotted stud 6, Fig. 4, which makes a single-tooth escapement with a wheel 14 rigidly connected to the ratchet F. On the operation of the escapement the hammer and pawl rotate the wheel F and striking, timed by the pendulum 34 takes place. The period of the pendulum is adjusted by a movable weight 35. The three teeth 15<1> of the escapement wheel are for the 12.30, 1, and 1.30 striking. The remaining pairs of teeth are for releasing the following half-hour and 'hour striking. Stops 23 and 24 are provided for the hammer. A counter pawl 21 is provided for the ratchet F.
