Abstract
A method of manufacturing sintered carbon anodes comprises moulding and compacting a green anode, heating the green anode to a sintering temperature at a temperature gradient of between 2.5 DEG C/min and 10 DEG C/min, maintaining sintering temperature for between 30 and 300 minutes and thereafter cooling off the sintered anode. The anodes may be heated by electrical resistance heating. The invention also includes apparatus suitable for carrying out the method.
