Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a malformation of material and elevate a heat treating temperature, by kneading a carbon powder and a thermoplastic or thermosetting synthetic resin into a desired form and then carbonizing or graphitizing the kneaded material through a heating and burnigng process. CONSTITUTION:About 20pts. graphite powder, about 30pts vinyl chloride resin, about 10pts. plasticizer and about 50pts. solvent are mixed and kneaded together and then formed into the desired shape of a speaker diaphragm by a mold frame. This formed product is put into a heating oven while being held by the mold frame so as to avoid a malformation due to the softening and heated gradually for about 8 hours up to about 300 deg.C from a room temperature. Then a burning process of about an hour is given at about 1,000 deg.C in a nonoxidizing atmosphere if argon, nitrogen or the like in order to ensure a carbonization.
