Abstract

A sheet of natural cork is made flexible and stable so that it can be used as a fabric material by integrating it with a sheet of plastics material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride which covers one side and penetrates into the gaps in the cork. In a preferred embodiment the cork sheet is sandwiched between two plastics sheets. Integration may be effected using an adhesive or by the application of heat followed by pressure,
