Abstract
A device for converting the variable formed by an impedance transmitter into a frequency signal has three negators 2, 3, 4 connected in series. The output 6 of the third negator 4, having a frequency which varies approximately inversely with the variations of the impedance transmitter, is fed back to the input of the first negator 2 via a variable resistance 5 forming the impedance transmitter and a fixed resistor 10, and is also fed to one input of a microprocessor 7 generating an output displayed by a display device 9. A fixed capacitance is connected between the junction of the second and third negators and the junction of the two resistors 5, 10. The microprocessor 7 processes the output 6 of the third negator 2 to produce a linear display which is frequency stable. The device may be constructed cheaply using CMOS techniques. Also disclosed are devices using capacitances and inductances as the impedance transmitter. <IMAGE>
