Abstract
A low capacitance CM to be measured is connected between a low impedance generator, such as the output B of an inverting amplifier 1 of low output impedance, and a fixed potential point such as the input A of the amplifier 1. The amplifier 1 is connected so as to form an RC oscillator whose frequency of oscillation provides a measure of the low capacitance the above connection of CM ensuring that stray capacitance in the connecting leads has no effect on the oscillator frequency. The output B of the amplifier is connected via a circuit (R1, R3, 2, 3) forming a Schmitt trigger 4 whose output D is connected via a resistor R to the input of the amplifier 1. <IMAGE>
