Condensers.-In a variable condenser of the kind having stationary and movable sets of plates, the plates are provided with integral projections which serve as distance pieces. In the condenser shown, the fixed plates 1 are triangular in form, and are each provided with three tubular projections 3 through which pass the posts 5. The movable plates 2 are semicircular and are provided with tubular projections 4 through which passes the rotary shaft 12, the plates being clamped against a collar, 13 on the shaft by a nut 14. The lower end of the shaft is recessed to receive an adjustable pivot screw 15, while the upper end passes through a bushing 17 and is provided with an operating knob 20.
