Abstract

201,843. Hill, H. Dec. 21, 1922. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Measuring for.-A foot measuring appliance comprises a surface a on which the foot is placed and a surrounding upstanding frame b. One end of the frame serves as an abutment for the heel, and near the other end a longitudinal slide c' moves over the top of one side of the frame to measure the position of the joint on the inside of the foot. A transversely moving piece d<1> is carried by a part passing through the other side of the frame to measure the width of the foot. A longitudinally moving slide i measures the length of the foot. The members i, d<1> may be operated by rotating knobs h, e, which may be constructed in the manner kpown in micrometer gauges, a spring and ratchet drive being frictional in one direction, to provide slip when the members touch the foot, but positive in the other (return) direction.
