Abstract

201,799. Griffin, W. L. Sept. 16, 1922. Anchors.-In an anchor of the type in which the arms c are formed separately and are secured to an aperture f in a tripping plate b the shank a being pivoted between the arms, the pivot pin d for the shank passes through the arms above the tripping plate and fastens all parts in working relation. The tripping plate aperture is provided with an enlarged central entrance port leading to two end recesses and the edges of each arm is grooved so that having been passed into the central part of the aperture the arms may be slid towards the edges of the plate. The end of the shank is V- shaped and at the limit of its tripping movement bears against both walls of the central part of the aperture. The central part of the tripping plate may be thickened.
