Abstract

An upright, open front, single curtain, refrigerated display cabinet having reverse flow air defrost combined with openings (34') in the rear panel (34) between the display space (28) and the recirculatory conduit (40) to create a negative pressure in the display space during defrost to cause initial cold air from the defrosting coil to cascade into the storage zone (arrows A) for minimizing product warming and shock. <IMAGE>
