Abstract

A valve assembly for modulating the braking effect on a wheel by a brake cylinder (RZ) is connected between a master cylinder (HZ) and the brake cylinder (RZ) and is normally open. However, on indication of wheel locking it interrupts the pressure connection to the brake cylinder (RZ) and through a volume increase lowers the brake pressure in the brake cylinder (RZ). The valve closure comprises a head 31 on a shank 32 moved by a diaphragm 6. The head has peripheral recesses 311 in the face nearer the shank. <IMAGE>
