Abstract

An arrangement is provided for blowing the appropriate fuse 17-20 when one of a plurality of parallel fused circuits 7-10, all of which are supplied from an inverter 2, becomes faulty. The inverter 2 has two outputs, a current- limited working output 3 having a relatively high internal impedance and an auxiliary output 4 having a substantially lower internal impedance. A switch 5 shifts the parallel circuits from the working output 3 of the inverter 2 to its auxiliary output 4 when a short circuit or an earth current, detected by means of a detector means 11, occurs in one of the parallel circuits 7-10 in order to temporarily reduce the internal impedance of the inverter 2. This permits sufficient current to flow to blow the appropriate fuse. <IMAGE>
