Abstract

201,019. Phillips, J. E. April 10, 1923. Arc lamps. - An electrodeholder comprises a tube 1 the lower end of which is split as at 2; the split socket is contracted on to the electrode by a split clip 3 the lugs 7, 8 of which are drawn together by means of a bolt 6 and a wing nut 9 having a helical surface 10 engaging a similar surface on the lug 8. The clip 3 is secured to the holder by a screw 4. The tube 1 may be used as an adapter for utilizing short lengths of carbon, the upper end being then inserted in an ordinary holder.
