Connections to carbons.- A cap for a carbon electrode is provided with a smooth exterior 1 of uniform diameter and an interior surface which is made up of three portions 2, 3, 4 of which the portion 2 just fits the electrode while the end 5 of the portion 4 bends inwards into contact with the electrode when the cap is applied thereto. The portions 2, 4 are connected by a tapering surface 3.
