Abstract
In a knitting machine, particularly a circular knitting machine with a yarn feed comprising a plurality of yarn guides (12, 14, 16) for different yarns, each yarn guide (12, 14, 16) is movable to a lower position at which its associated yarn is active. Yarn- pressing means (28) is movable to a lower position in front of the yarn guides (12, 14, 16) so as to lower a yarn which is being brought into operation by lowering of its yarn guide, in order to ensure that the yarn is correctly taken by the needles (7). The yarn-pressing means (28) is located in a raised position during normal operation of the machine. <IMAGE>
