Abstract
The invention provides an improved Cu-Ni-Sn alloy with a spinodal structure for use in springs, relays or wire connectors. The improved alloy contains at least one additional element selected from Mo, Nb, Ta, V and Fe, and the method of manufacture includes a treatment of annealing quenching and aging. Fig. 1 compares the properties of improved alloys (designated "modified") with those of prior art alloys. The alloy consists of by weight:- <IMAGE> where Cu + Ni + Sn is at least 95%. <IMAGE>
