Abstract

Refrigerating, absorption machines for.-Apparatus working on the reversing system is arranged so that the generator-absorber a and condenser-evaporator b remain stationary during the generation and condensation of the vapours, but are rotated through 180‹ before evaporation and absorption. A heater o and supplies of cooling water p, r are provided and ice is made in an insulated chamber x. Communication between the vessels a, b is established by means of a sickle-shaped tube f, opening above the level of the liquid in the vessel a, and a hollow shaft e communicating at g with an annular space h within the vessel b. Rotation of the apparatus is effected by means of a handle n. Overflow pipes u, t for the cooling water are provided. Slightly modified forms of vessels a, b and connecting passages are described.
