Abstract

The roving 3 is immersed in an impregnation liquid 2a, it is then drafted in a drafting device 7, 8 and the drafted roving is then dried with the aid of a drying device 10, the drafted and dried roving is twisted in order to obtain a yarn which is wound; these operations are carried out continuously; the roving 3a is extracted from the drafting device 7, 8 and guided to the drying device 10 with a low tension and the twisting operation is carried out directly on the roving 3b which leaves the drying device 10. The invention is particularly applicable to flax. A roving consolidating fabric twist device 12 may be provided at the exit of the drafting device. <IMAGE>
