Abstract

A crop drier, and in particular a grain drier, comprises a crop-receiving bin 1, see Figure 1, having a vertical central pipe 2, and a fan 7 within the pipe for inducing a flow of air through a crop 13 in the bin via the pipe 2 and openings 3 through the wall of the pipe 2. The fan 7 is vertically adjustable in the pipe 2, by means of a winch 4, for regulating the air flow through the crop in the bin. The housing 7' of the fan is provided with sealing rings 14, 15 having projecting lips that provide a seal against the inner wall of the pipe. The pipe 2 is preferably constructed as shown in Figure 2, in which the pipe is shown as being provided with circumferential, axially spaced-apart beads 16 resulting in the formation of circumferential grooves in the inner wall of the pipe. The spacing apart of adjacent beads 16 is the same as the axial spacing apart of the sealing rings 14, 15 on the fan housing 7'. This construction of the pipe 2 facilitates raising and lowering of the fan in the pipe 2. <IMAGE>
