To compensate for barometric pressure changes, a pressure-responsive control device (such as a pressostat or thermostat) having an operating element 8 (in the form of a bellows 11 or diaphragm) arranged to move a control member 15 in response to pressure changes and against the action of a spring 16, has a further operating element 10 which is evacuated and effectively acts in opposition to the first-mentioned element 8. <IMAGE>
