Abstract

198,977. Richmond, T. G. Jan. 18, 1923. Potato planters.-An attachment for a potatoplanting machine consists of two longitudinally-extending arms 1 having at their rear ends two obliquely-set dished discs 6, rotatably mounted on pins 7 so that their lower edges nearly touch. The discs 6 travel along the drill and cut into obstructions such as clods, or lumps of manure, and serve also to guide the potatoes falling from the shoot B or its equivalent. The arms 1 are connected by cross-bars 3, and are bolted adjustably or otherwise to the frame of the machine. If they are pivoted or otherwise loosely mounted, the frame 1, 3 is preferably spring supported.
