Ploughs combined with steams for distribitting manure, seeds, etc.; adjusting parts.- Apparatus for attachment to a plough for planting potatoes or other seeds at regular intervals accompanied by charges of manure comprises a seed hopper provided with an auxiliary storage hopper having an endless-chain agitator and with an endless chain of cups for discharging the potatoes &c., and a manure hopper provided with a revolving agitator and endless chains carrying projecting plates or scoops tor discharging the manure. The agitating and discharging appliances are driven from a main shaft C connected with the land-wheel E of the plough by chain gearing, the height of the wheel E being adjustable by shifting a pin F passing through a hole in a plate G and one of a series of holes in a plate H. The chains carrying the plates K, Fig. 4, for discharging the manure from the hopper A, and the chain carrying cups L, Fig. 2, for discharging the potatoes &c. from the hopper B are driven direct from the shaft C and so that the manure and potatoes fall against inclined plates M, M<1>, M<2> which guide them to the furrow made by the front plough N. The agitating-appliances are driven from a shaft P connected with the shaft C by chain or other gearing. The agitator in the manure hopper A consists of a wheel provided with radial blades S, and that in the auxiliary potato hopper B' above the hopper B consists of an endless drum R<1> furnished with fingers or plates S' which pass. between guide or shield plates in the hopper as they move downwards.
