Abstract

Butt joints; plates, walls, and the like, securing pipes and tubes to.-Branches 4 of detachable cooling elements 1, 3 of motor-car &c. radiators are secured to the wall of the main water chamber C by bars 9 mounted on bolts 11 secured in sleeves 12 integral with the walls of the chamber and extending from front to rear thereof. The joint faces of the branch and wall of the chamber C are recessed to accommodate an elastic packing ring having a middle flange 6<1>. The bars 9 may have positioning lugs 14 engaging slots 15 in the branches.
