Abstract

198,297. Tingley, T. I. Dec. 18, 1922. Spring wheels.-Between a flared annular rim portion 12 of the wheel body 10 and a flared annular retaining member 14 is fitted a felloe 21 formed with a hollow rim portion 24 of equilateral triangular cross-section and a central inwardly-directed flange 22. An annular ledge 13 on the wheel body abuts against a flange 16 on the retaining member, which is built up of sections 17. Bolts 18 which fit apertures in the wheel body and retaining member 14 and pass through larger apertures 23 in the flange 22 of the felloe, are fitted with springs 20 which compress between nuts 19 on the bolts and the retaining member 14. Rubber dust-covers may be fitted over the springs.
