Abstract

197,807. Wren, W. April 5, 1922. Bottling granular and like materials.-Apparatus for filling receptacles with powders &c. consists of a supply hopper or tank 2 .with discharge pipes 12, and measuring-vessels 13 beneath which the receptacles 16 to be filled are placed, rotary valves 10, 14 operated by means of handles 11, 15 regulating the passage of the material from the tank to the vessels 13 and from the vessels 13 to the receptacles 16 respectively. The valverod 10 works in a sleeve 10<a> and has holes 10<b> formed through it at intervals to coincide with exits 2a in the tank bottom. The lower valverod 14 has holes 14<a> therein to register with outlets 13<a> in the vessels 13. An agitating-device consisting of paddles 3 on an horizontal shaft 3<a> in the tank is driven by sprocket gearing 18 from a shaft 6 carried in bearings 5 at the top of the tank. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 26029/04, 5556/06, 6438/12, and 124,128, [all in Class 125 (ii), Bottles &c., Filling &c.].
