Abstract

196,874. Wood, H. C. Dec. 12, 1922. Current motors.-A non-buoyant undershot water-wheel C is carried on cantilever rocking arms D supported on a shaft E and having balance weights K. The water-wheel C is geared above the water level to the shaft E and may be mechanically adjustable. A float device G carried by a lever arm and link device automatically adjusts the position of the wheel to the height of the water. In a modification the wheel may be of the breast-fed type. The water may pass from the stream on to the water-wheel C over a weir having a regulated notch which may be square, rectangular or triangular.
