Abstract
196,301. Naamlooze Vennootschap Kamatec, (Assignees of Duyl, H. van). April 15, 1922, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Platen-rotation for blanking. A device for use with forms supplied in a continuous web comprises a rotary pulley 1 which can be clutched at will to the platen 10, and is adapted to impart a feed movement equal to the distance between the last entry on one bill and the bottom of the heading on the following bill. The platen is connected to a disc 7 by gearing 7a arranged so that one revolution of the disc corresponds to a feed movement equal to the length of a form. The disc has a circular groove 6 containing a projection which is initially in contact with a pin 5 on a disc 4, and recedes from the pin at each operation of the line-spacing mechanism. The pulley is removed laterally to engage and disengage clutch members 2, 3 on the pulley and the disc 4 by means of a lever 13, pivoted at 12 and co-operating with a lever 19. and a roller 1@ mounted resiliently on the disc 4. When the last entrv has been printed, a catch 21 is withdrawn from the lever 19. which is thereupon raised by a spring 20, the lever 13 being rocked by a cam 22 and moving the clutch member 2 into engagement with the clutch member 3, the disc 4 thereupon, by means of the pin 5, imparting movement to the disc 7 and the platen. When the discs have almost completed a revolution. the lever 19 is depressed, and permitted to engage with the catch 21, by means of a rod 17 operated by a projection on the disc 7. At the end of a revolution of the discs, the roller 15 engages a lug 14 on the lever 13 and moves the pulley laterally. the clutch members being thereby separated and the disc 4 arrested.
