Abstract

196,194. Herbert, Sir A., and Lloyd, A. H. May 11, 1922. Attachments for screwing and tapping.-In yielding drive attachments, a clutch is provided comprising a x i a l spring - pressed plungers having bevelled ends engaging similarly shaped radial recesses in the tool holding member. The attachment consists of a body A having an axial recess A<5> in which a toolsocket B is rotatably secured by means of balls D, inserted through a radial hole in the hole in the body. The latter contains axial recesses A<11> in which are freely mounted plungers E, having bevelled facets E<4> for engaging radial grooves A' in the socket. The plungers are acted on by springs E<2> which abut against pins F adjusted axially by means of a knurled cap G screwed on the body.
