Abstract

Throw-discs.-A throw-disc for athletic and like games comprises a wooden wheel body having an external circumferential groove, a metal rim on the body having a corresponding internal groove, and adjustable spring elements arranged in the space formed by the grooves so as to ensure a permanently rigid connection between the rim and the body. The body a is made of sectors with the grain running radially. A central rivet i and washers h, h<1> clamp the sectors together. The metal rim b is retained by springs c which are located within an annular groove formed by the body and rim, and are pressed against the body by means of screws d. The wooden sectors are drilled radiallv so as to connect the annular groove with a central space f<1>, and soft metal e is run in so as to lock the disc elements permanently together.
